Toni Steed
I have lived and worked in this part of Hampshire for most of my life and my home is currently in Fareham. My husband and I love being close to the sea and we love the village atmosphere that places like Stubbington offer.
Although I do not live in Stubbington, I know it well. Close friends live there and I have run the Stubbington 10k on several occasions. I have also been a long-term supporter of Sophie’s Legacy. We also cycle the area frequently.
Before retiring, I worked as Company Secretary for our family business so I understand the challenges self employed people face. I also spent many years as a medical secretary and financial services help desk operator.
I am not a politician but I do believe that our country, our county, our communities are at risk. It is time for change.
Our communities share common problems which include:
Closure of local shops and businesses that define the character of our area.
Over development that reduces our green spaces and puts pressure on already fragile infrastructure and essential services including schools, doctors and dentists.
Over development that undermines the Strategic Gap between Stubbington and Fareham and dilutes our local identity.
County level decisions that have to be confronted by residents - Stubbington Study Centre is a good example.
Inadequate policing that encourages shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.
If you are prepared to lend me your vote I will promise to represent you with commitment. I will listen to your concerns, meet with you and represent your interests to the best of my ability. I will promise fresh ideas and a strong voice at Fareham Borough Council.
