Toni Steed

I have lived and worked in this part of Hampshire for most of my life and my home is currently in Fareham. My husband and I love being close to the sea and we love the village atmosphere that places like Stubbington offer.

Although I do not live in Stubbington, I know it well. Close friends live there and I have run the Stubbington 10k on several occasions. I have also been a long-term supporter of Sophie’s Legacy. We also cycle the area frequently.

Before retiring, I worked as Company Secretary for our family business so I understand the challenges self employed people face. I also spent many years as a medical secretary and financial services help desk operator.

I am not a politician but I do believe that our country, our county, our communities are at risk. It is time for change.

Our communities share common problems which include:

  • Closure of local shops and businesses that define the character of our area.

  • Over development that reduces our green spaces and puts pressure on already fragile infrastructure and essential services including schools, doctors and dentists.

  • Over development that undermines the Strategic Gap between Stubbington and Fareham and dilutes our local identity.

  • County level decisions that have to be confronted by residents - Stubbington Study Centre is a good example.

  • Inadequate policing that encourages shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.

If you are prepared to lend me your vote I will promise to represent you with commitment. I will listen to your concerns, meet with you and represent your interests to the best of my ability. I will promise fresh ideas and a strong voice at Fareham Borough Council.
