Steve Richards
I have lived in Fareham for 20 years with my wife and two children. We moved here to be closer to my work and to be near my wife's family; one sister lives in Fareham, and the other in Wicor, Portchester.
My career has spanned many fields. I started in the Merchant Navy as a Radio Officer, then transitioned into design and programming in the defence industry. I took on a new challenge in education, joined Warsash Maritime Academy as a Senior Lecturer before moving on to roles at the University of Portsmouth and Solent University. Along the way, I also ran my own programming business.
I have also served as a Magistrate and was a Chartered Engineer so possess a strong ability to advocate for people’s interests, ensuring that public resources are used wisely. I am committed to holding the council accountable, questioning the value of projects, and stopping wasteful spending.
If you are prepared to lend me your vote, I promise to listen to what you have to say and work hard to deliver results. I will work to improve opportunities for local businesses, address petty crime and anti-social behaviour and invigorate the Precinct.
