Pete Watson

I have lived in Hampshire for around 40 years in total and currently live with my wife in Fareham. I have 2 children and one lives in Hampshire, the other overseas in New Zealand.

My early career was in the financial services and pension industry and I also spent several years as an Independent Financial Engineer and Advisor.

In 2003 I moved to Waltham Chase where I lived for 10 years. I trained and worked as an A Graded government approved professional driving instructor, although I currently work less hours being semi-retired.

I already have some experience in politics, having served for 8 years as a parish councillor in Kirton Lincolnshire, which included 2 years as Chairman. I was also elected as an Independent Borough councillor for Boston Borough Council for a 4-year term between 2019 and 2023. For 1 year I was Chairman of the Audit and Governance committee and also the councillor training committee. I also served on the Planning Committee for the entire 4 years of my term in office.

I am standing for election now because I have grown frustrated at the way our country and our county have been run. It is time for change and fresh ideas and it is time to seriously scrutinise how every pound is being spent on our behalf. I want to use my experience to make a difference.

If you are prepared to lend me your vote, I will work hard to deliver results. I will listen and I will ensure that your voices are heard on matters such as policing, petty crime, anti-social behaviour and the provision of essential services. I will also deal with concerns regarding over development, congestion and protection of our community identity.
