Dave Eggelton
I have lived in Hampshire for over 50 years and, together with my wife, have spent the last 36 years living in the local area.
I am new to politics, which I see as a strength rather than a weakness. I bring over 37 years of experience from the private sector, working in the oil, gas and chemicals industries delivering major projects and managing teams.
I understand many of the challenges we face because I speak with local residents. My focus is to support local people and use the skills developed throughout my career to help address the issues that matter most. This is why I am standing as your county council candidate.
I now work part-time and want to dedicate more of my time to giving back to the community and delivering improvements. My immediate priorities would be:
Working with the police to encourage greater visibility on our streets in Portchester and tackle anti-social behaviour such as shoplifting, drug and alcohol abuse, and other low-level crime.
Ensuring better value for money in how public funds are spent by challenging unnecessary spending.
Making sure that the residents of Portchester have a powerful and influential voice.
I am standing for election because I care deeply about my country and my local community. Real change only happens when people step forward with new ideas and a commitment to deliver.
