Amanda Aldridge

I have lived in Hampshire for over 28 years and consider it home.

Although I am new to politics, I consider this as a strength rather than a weakness since I bring over 34 years of experience from working at a senior level in both the civil service and the private sector.

I understand the problems we are facing and share your worries. I believe that local politics needs fresh thinking and new ideas, so my commitment is to use the skills and experience I possess to deliver results. This is why I am standing for election and since I retired in 2022, I have the time to do the job properly.

I am standing as a local ward candidate and also as your county candidate. This is because I recognise that in preserving and improving our local community, we must also understand, improve and protect our adjoining areas. Our villages are steeped in history and home to many small businesses. We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and we need to preserve it.

If elected, my priorities will be:

To address local concerns including transport and the provision of key services.
To address understandable worries over the impact of large scale development, particularly Welborne Village.
To speak for the interests of our farming communities.
To protect our landscape and our village life and encourage community events.

Above all, I promise to be a strong and persuasive voice in the council chamber to get the issues that concern us recognised and resolved. I will also ensure that every pound spent delivers value.

I love my country and I love my local community. Change will only happen if we work to make it happen. If elected, I will listen to what you have to say and I will not let you down.
